摘要：Preimage entropy is a quantity to provide information of how `non-invertible' a system is. Cheng and Newhouse (Ergod. Theory Dyn. Syst. 25 (2005) 1091–1113) proved a variational principle for preimage entropy.
Unfortunately, we show in this note that this variational principle is not true.
